WW is dead? I had no idea. I thought he'd just lost interest and went
off to do other stuff.

I would point out to anyone who's concerned about the state of the list,
there's something very helpful that you can do: Go to the list archives,
http://www.chez-vrolet.net/pipermail/ffml/ , or into your saved emails
from FFML if you have any. Find a story that someone posted. Read it,
and post a comment. Rinse, repeat. I want to stress, this is absolutely
nothing personal towards Larry and Hans, but a general comment to anyone
who would like to see the list be active again.
Me, if someone posts a story, I'll commit to doing my best to read it
and try to post a useful comment. This does not apply to certain
individuals to whom I've sent story comments in past and not gotten any
reply. That's something like two or three people. You know who you are,
or should. Anyone else care to make this same commitment?
To Angus MacSpon, who posted while I was typing up my own reply: My
understanding (Dennis Carr may want to jump in here) is that there are
problems with using HTML on an email list. It doesn't play well with the
digest mode option whereby a bunch of posts get combined into one for
some recipients. It's not the greatest for quoting back one line of a
previous message at a time in order to comment on a specific passage of
a story. That said, it's not a big deal for me if the list consensus is
to move to HTML and if it's doable from a technical perspective.
Certainly it wouldn't stop me from posting stuff.
