[FFML] [Carmen Sandiego] The Borderline Caper

I will freely admit that I don't know a lot about Carmen Sandiego outside
of some of the old games (up to roughly an early Windows edition of Where
in the World ... ? and the PBS kids' game show), but I'd heard about some
of the recent media, and the series tag was enough to get me to read
through this.

As such, I don't know how accurately any of the characters are being
depicted. Carmen herself seems fairly accurate (even if the idea of her
working with ACME and against VILE is a *bit* of a head-scratcher - but I
think that's canon to the recent series), so that's a plus. The fact that
"Player" has such a minor role feels like it's at odds with my memories of
the aforementioned old games, but it *does* make sense if this is based on
a non-interactive version - I have to take that part on faith.

With all of that said, I consider it a high mark of success for any
fanfiction when it sparks my interest in checking out the media on which
it's based ... and I'm happy to say that The Borderland Caper achieves that
goal, and not just for curiosity about who the rest of the cast is. Adrian,
am I remembering right that this series was on Netflix? (You may want to
put that in the acknowledgements section ... which I didn't see one of; I
thought that was de rigeur for fanfics?)

This specific fic may not be one of the FFML's great treasures, but it's
certainly a worthy last contribution from a long-time member. I hope
anything I manage to post lives up to such a standard.
