[FFML] Continue dead or abandon fics by other authors

Well, in strict terms of modern fanfiction, I can certainly cite two 
examples of fanfics that have inspired other fanfics which have in turn 
inspired other fanfics written within the last 4-5 years.

And depending on your point of view, these can be considered examples of 
why this is not necessarily a good thing.

Example One:

The Conversion Bureau.

One guy wrote a story that he swears wasn't intended to be as 
misanthropic as it turned out to be. A bunch of misanthropes got on 
board the bandwagon and wrote a shitload of misanthropic stories based 
on the same concept. This in turn created an entire expanded universe 
and even a MULTIVERSE. And of course, there were anti-misanthropes who 
got involved and put their OWN spin on things.

The end result? There are HUNDREDS of Conversion Bureau stories on FiMF, 
by dozens of authors, covering a broad range of subjects, characters, 
and political and philosophical positions.

Example Two:

Fallout: Equestria.

Good LORD, Fallout: Equestria.

HUNDREDS of sidestories have been written for Fallout: Equestria.

It's difficult to pass one single day browsing FiMF without running into 
the story itself, sidestories, or references to it.
