Thanks for the C&C, and glad you're enjoying the story.  Yeah, descriptions
(especially details of rooms and such) and showing characters' emotional
states are still a weakness for me.  And there were some oddities in the
punctuation - I'll check through the original document again to work out if
those were my own doing or something that happened in the formatting.  As
for the launching thing, genre convention - people launch without permission
all the time in Gundam and other mecha shows (so just getting the captain's
permission isn't a big stretch from that), and I felt that mentioning all
the technical prep work and such was unnecessary.

Hopefully I'll have the next chapter out quicker than this one.
