I think I had the dash there because in my head I had that as short for
"hundred-yen coin," but on further research I guess these suspended
hyphens are only appropriate when used as in other places--i.e. "fifty-
and one-hundred-yen coins" and such.

That kind of drives at why I emphasized "pachinko", as I did that for
the same reason I emphasized "sempai"--they're foreign words.  Of
course, taking this to the logical end, that would suggest all the
honorifics used should also be emphasized... which, in my mind, would
get really old really quickly.

Admittedly, there are some things I feel comfortable emphasizing when
denoted by italics but that feel weird when forced to use plain text and
underscores.
