That's really not that accurate for how cameras actually work. What
real celebrities use is a infrared laser strobe that shoots towards
cameras (set off by the rangefinder), which would screw up regular
cameras too.

You could get around a 'scrambler of sensors of any camera' by just
manually adjusting the focus, which you can do on any high end
professional camera.
