Put like that, I see your point. My usual tendency is to write Kasumi as 
somewhat inscrutable and here is probably a case where it didn't serve 
the story. There are what might be implied hints of her feelings for 
Tofu but nothing shown or described in any detail. I think adding 
something earlier in the series that explores her feelings toward him 
and towards what she could be doing with her life if she weren't 
duty-bound would work well, and I'll definitely look into doing this.
