[FFML] [Firefly][ATLA] The Powers in the 'Verse

Now here's another tale I'm countin' on you not hearing about. Back in
the ancient days, long before even the destruction of Earth-That-Was,
every generation had a folk who I hear tell had control over all the
elements--shui, tu, huo, qi. Now, time in history records had lots of
people, "benders" they were called, using these powers, but only one ever
managed to use all four. People called him "jiangshishentong," or "the
Avatar."

There was a sort of cold civil war, where those who couldn't bend showed a
particular distaste toward those who could. Battles were fought, small
ones in the streets and big ones in the halls of "government," but
everyone grew mighty weary of it all. In the end, people stopped bending,
or at least they stopped showing it off.

Until the colonies, anyways.

Supposedly a few ships carrying--well, Alliance calls 'em "the noble
trailblazers" but I think we're all fair certain they were slaves--started
the practice again. Some of the colonies used the gift of their planet to
ease the terraforming process. Earthbenders leveling out land for the
construction, airbenders keeping the atmosphere at bay, so on and so on.
Mind, these planets were deemed outliers, and they're on the other side of
the Core, so we don't see them none. But they exist.

Pretty of it all? Legend had it Earth-That-Was anointed the Avatar.

And the colonies, each of them planets anointed one of their own.

This is more of a story idea than it is an actual fanfic on its
own--something that just kind of swept through my mind and I thought had
potential. I don't know how much more I can actually develop from this
narrative at all, since I don't actually see Serenity benefiting from
finding the Avatars or benders in general, and people generally want
Serenity crew fanfic, not fanfic that happens to be set in the 'Verse.
Not to mention that a lot of the appeal of Firefly is in the dialogue--any
sort of narration when it comes to Firefly, it's Mal's voice runs through
my head.

Still, I think the possibilities are out there for blending the ATLA and
Firefly universes. The question is, without Serenity present, would it be
read?
