My apologies, Henry; I made a significant revision to the Mori scene from
earlier.  Instead of merely using Asakura out of the blue, she
references more of that day's incident, suggesting that Haruhi erased
Asakura out of jealousy over Kyon.  In addition, to make the later club
room scene more logical, Haruhi confronts Kyon about Mori's allegations,
and so they both know Kyon went into the classroom with Asakura.  Haruhi
just doesn't know the true reason or what really happened there until
now.

My mistake with that; in retrospect, it seems rather silly of me not to
tell anyone who's been proofing this story that I did that.

You're right; flames are no good.  I guess it's just going to have to
wither and disintegrate.
