I must agree with DB Sommer. As someone who speaks Japanese, I find
Japanese used in fanfiction to be usually immaterial at best, flawed
at worst. Although you may believe you understand how a particular
term is used from watching anime, you may not be correct. And even if
it is, it rarely adds to the story anything that would not be present
merely by using an English word choice.
You are left with two possible outcomes; annoying those that don't
speak any Japanese at all or annoying those (such as myself) who do.
Best just to leave it alone. Granted, MM will disagree with me, as he
has in the past.
