         There should also have been a speed-of-light vs speed-of-sound 
delay between the flash and "whump."  Which P&F would naturally have 
noticed and used to calculate the distance to the... explosion?  A 
"sonic boom" is caused by on object traveling through the air (or 
possibly other medium, but that's getting pedantic even for me), while a 
flash/whump combo sounds more like an explosion.
         ...what?  I'm locked in a lab doing aerospace R&D 10hrs/day all 
week long.  Eventually it... changes... a person.

         Aero-engineering pedantery aside, the whole piece seems a 
bit... light.  It needs a punch line or something at the end.  As it is, 
it just sort of peters out.  Although the "badger" bit was funny.
