The trick here is in the following steps.

A: Replace double hard returns with a character not found in nature, such as |
B: Replace all remaining hard returns with a space.
C: Replace multiple spaces with a single space.
D: Remove spaces that are before or after the replacement character |
E: Replace the strange character above | with a single character return.

This drops the entire text into a line per paragraph, with no indents.
