Incidentally, I have had it addressed that this seems unusual considering 
it's Mamoru's family that's wealthy and influential. I do actually have a 
logical explanation for this, that is entirely related to some of Japan's 
more complex and nonsensical taxation laws; I'd probably have to do some 
severe retconning to make it not look like an Ass Pull, but rest assured the 
basic notion has been there from the start. It's just not as obvious if you 
aren't used to "thinking Japan" when writing about things such as this.
