           The biology lab looked very well equipped; definitely the
        students were
        getting their money's worth, even if most of them clearly didn't
        enjoy
        dissecting frogs.
         

    Here, for instance, I would expect Alyssa to get a bit more
    concrete, perhaps noting a few specific instruments not common to
    high schools.


| Any suggestions?  I don't know biology work well enough to be sure 
what to put.  ^^;;

I had to think about it a bit  How about:

"The biology lab looked very well equipped; I noted a Suzushiro Biotech 
Gene Sequencer in one corner, and a Genom Embrywomb next to it.  When I 
was in high school biology, we dissected frogs, and I think most 
Japanese high school students still do, but apparently here they've 
moved on to cloning tadpoles.  I'm not sure I completely approve; we 
learned valuable lessons about how reality and textbooks illustrations 
differ, and about getting our hands dirty, when I was that age, which 
these children miss."
