I have to say this is rather intersting the way you did the story. its starts out with a real reason for ranma to join the army. it reminds me of ranma goes to war. To bad about akane dying in such an ugly manner though. 
The one thing i found off if ranma being a heavy weapon type person. i see him more of the type to be recon with the way he moves and his training and even then being asked to join the special forces even. 
one thing that you should think about adding if something about hand to hand traaing where the sarge asks ranma to help train everyone else after getting his butt handed to him by ranma though. at least just a thought to add something to the story.
It is something that you did something about everyone learning about the curse and it was handled very easy at least.
i am not sure what else i can say about it exect where do you see this going and in 96 did the sdf 1 land yet? i can not remember off hand.
