It has its applications and uses. However, HTML is rather excessive for
most of the types of stories posted to this list - and anyone who has a
problem with writing in plain text in general, has a problem writing.
(I emphasize "in general": it has its place for some stories, but if you
don't think you can write without bolding and italics - or multiple font
colors and sizes, or other advanced HTML options - then chances are you
can't write well even with those.)
