Well said. C&C about the fic itself, good. Attempting to impose one's
morals on someone else just for being an author, bad.
If you really feel the need, you can always phrase your objection in the
form of a fanfic, so long as it meets list guidelines (no obvious
personal attacks with parodies of specific list members, for example).
Of course, writing such a thing while keeping it good quality (for
example, by not bashing the reader over the head with the intended point
of view) can be extremely difficult. But then, some authors like a
challenge - and trying something challenging can improve one's skill.
Also remember, the "Dark" tag exists for a reason. A fic in a world
where things we (most of the people likely to read it) would find morally
objectionable take place regularly, which fic explores the negative
consequences of this, and those who inflict said things get away with it
with no regret or empathy for their victims? Yeah, that's probably going
to need it. The main purpose of the "Dark" tag is to warn readers who
would be upset by such things, not to read them.
-would discuss how certain current IRL events would deserve a "Dark" tag
if written up here, but that's off-topic
