[FFML] Question about how to keep the text as is after submitted

I'm not afraid of viruses or other forms of malware. I keep my virus
scanners well updated. Let's see, how many times have I gotten a virus in my
email? None. I use Office/Outlook for my email client. I use AVG as my
anti-virus. I've received many messages that were obviously forgeries
containing binaries that I didn't even bother running past AVG because they
were from people I didn't know. Also, keeping to 'text only' is no guarantee
that you won't get a virus from email. The only way to do that is to not
open attachments. If you have your email client set up correctly, as I do,
even html isn't all that big a threat, malware wise.
I'd be more annoyed with spam, and that's far more prevalent than malware.
Since this list sees very little spam, I'm unconcerned, security wise, if
the list went to html. We just aren't good enough to be a target anymore.
Hell, even in the lists that I frequent that are big targets for nefarious
purposes, like the HP lists, I rarely see any viruses there... It's usually
just spam, and spammers get kicked just as fast.
Rule 1: People Are Stupid!
1a: It's not my Fault!
1b: I just wish people wouldn't try so hard to prove Rule 1.

I lurk for the most part, and haven't posted, well, in years. I thought I'd
put my two cents in here and point out that by allowing HTML, we would
potentially leave ourselves open to virii and malware. I believe things
should be left as-is.
