[FFML] Farewell Old Friend...

Okay. What you want to do -- and the people who design this stuff are putting in a good bit of effort into making it as easy as possible -- is to install a Linux build, either in a dual-boot setup or on a dedicated box. Steam has a credible Linux version, and they're working on compatibility a good bit.
Given that you're still running Win XP, I suggest either Linux Mint or Zorin OS, both of which can be rather Windows-like... although I'm not at all familiar with the fiddly bits of the latter.
You can find Linux Mint at https://linuxmint.com/ .
Zorin OS is at https://zorinos.com/ . Notably, it has a "lite" version for older computers, and if you're still using a Win XP box, that may be helpful.
Again, there's a version of Steam that works with Linux OSes, so you'd be fine there.
After you've done that, you should take a look at WINE ( https://www.winehq.org/ ) and Lutris (https://lutris.net/ ). The former is a somewhat-fiddly program that lets Linux systems run Windows programs with a minimum of slowdown; the latter is a system to help you set things up and avoid fiddling with the details of the former manually. It also functions a lot like Steam from what I understand (I haven't used it much), so it should be rather simple to get used to.
'Course, Lutris's installation scripts are user-submitted, so expect some to be better than others... but damn near anything would be better than XP nowadays.
Importantly: Everything I've mentioned so far is free. Hopefully that info will help.

Could you put that somewhere besides Steam? Steam doesn't play very well 
with XP. And I'm stuck using a XP computer. Can't use Steam. Man... I really 
do miss Skyrim. I haven't been able to play that for years about now.
