[FFML] Farewell Old Friend...

Well, I've now downloaded the storyline mentioned below ("Master of the Crystals") via Steam (and sent a friend request to who I *hope* is the same Benjamin Oliver as here, given... well, discussion). I just started the Academy infiltration mission, and the writing seems pretty good so far (which it should be, given who made the thing; I sure as Hell didn't download it for the author's demonstrated coding or graphic design proficiency!)
Ah, fun times. Nostalgia.

There may have been an ethnic or socio-political group I offended
while writing some of my stuff.  Hopefully it wasn't too extreme.  I
expected most just rolled their eyes and moved on.

Glad you liked it!  I think I was inspired to write it because I
thought Carrot Glace's Insertion was too tame of a concept.  And
Carrot mentioned NETTG as an inspiration for Insertion.  It's mutual
cannibalism, y'see!  It's really a story I could only write while
bouncing ideas constantly off another person.  A lot of fun, as I
mentioned, but time-consuming for all parties.

Cool.  Well, beyond that, the only other thing I can offer as a
content creator is a non-fanfic game I threw together in RPG Maker VX
Ace a few years back:

Master of the Crystals, a story of Spirit Construct, a flame being in
service to the Crystal Master, but sometimes unquestioningly doing
your job is not always the right thing to do.

I've got a version I adapted into RPG Maker MV, and am doing an MZ
version as motivation allows.  If there's interest, I can make a copy
available to download via Google Drive if the Workshop link isn't
useful.  Or I could finish a working copy of the MZ version and post
that.  Was a short story (maybe 2-3 hours worth with bugs), but the VX
Ace version pretty much told what there was to tell.

I once considered a career in fiction writing, but instead I chose MIS
and tech writing, as it seemed my odds for survival were better that
way.  Maybe when I retire I'll become a writer for real.  It's a great
feeling to be writing, but inspiration doesn't always strike.

Yup, still alive.  Experiments to run and research to be done on the
people who are still alive.

Hmm... FFML: Ragnarok!  After the passing of the great hero Mythril
Moth, the Eternal Lost Lurker, the seal is broken on Osciir, the
trickster god and lover of many cats, who wreaks havok and defeats the
final vanguard of heroic fic writers... With no other choice, the
final heroes must unleash the resurrected Tybalt to finally drive a
spear into the heart of the FFML List Serve!

(Taika Waititi voice) "As you can see, I'm made of Ranma fanfics..."

Yeah, no way to write that story in a non-offensive way. ^_^;;  (slinks away)

It's a wild place to live, let me tell you.  When I wrote NETTG, that
was my most serious and straight-faced attempt at a story that I'd
ever done.  Naturally it was hailed as a very silly parody, so you can
imagine what might have happened if I wasn't toning it down.

Ah, nice!  You actually got a job writing fiction.  That guy does some
real doorstoppers of novels.  Hopefully the work environment has been
pleasant and your job has survived the pandemic.
