[FFML] [NEWS] Re: Eternal Lost Lurker

Hey everyone,


Thank you all for your kind words. I was Lurk's emergency contact after his aunt, so I received the call from her directly. In turn, I made the official announcement over at FiMF, where he, under his MM alias, was most prolific these last seven years.


I wish I had come back to the FFML with happier news, like extremely overdue news on SotP or somesuch, or just to catch up with the ancient guard here. It shouldn't have to take the passing of one of our oldest friends for me to reach out to you again. But I want to say, I'm glad he had such good friends and fellow writers during the Improfanfic days. Even long after that period was over, he'd always mention you with nothing but fondness, even the occasional spat or disagreement. I only wish I had been there to see it too, but I'm happy you were there to shoot the shit with him in the years that I wasn't, just as I'm happy I got to be with him up to the end.


I just wanted to say that, even 24 or 23 years after first joining, I greatly admire and appreciate everyone here. Lurker was my best friend for all these years, but I think very highly of everyone I got to meet over the FFML. And while I'm pretty sure he'd probably snort and give a very snarky, inflammatory reply to this emotional display from the long-dormant list, he'd also come back to several of us in private and cry with real gladness over it.


I'm still wrestling with what should become of his stories. I'm taking ownership of his MLP/Persona crossover, since it was a joint project --mostly his, of course. For the rest of his unfinished work, his family has left it up to me whether to allow other fans to pick up after him. Has anyone else dealt with anything similar before?


Thank you again for everything you've said, and I hope I can come back soon with something that ELL would have loved to come back to the list for.
