Pfft, what? Another dime-a-dozen Mary Sue AU story from some George Lucas-wannabe? I don't-
> By John Biles

Oooh. This'll be *good*. :)
> “I want to go!” Little Han said, tugging on his mother’s leg.

One thing the Star Wars universe never nailed down was Han's origin story. I've read several variations.
> She stared off across the room at> a picture of her awarding medals to his father and Uncle Luke and Uncle
> Chewie and others;
Oh, oops. Not the origin story I was expecting.
> Chewie was off pretending to do maintenance work; he’d hide through

Interesting way of looking at it. From 20 light years away, Alderaan still exists.
> She’d faced dangers like that, but she had no choice; their

Every generation feels exactly the same way. It's like an infinite series. "(My Generation - 1) screwed things up, but (My Generation) did they best they could, now it's up to (My Generation +1) to step up."
> In Democracy for all its flaws, for all her own origins as a
> princess, the daughter of a Queen.
The Naboo system of governance is strange. A democratically-elected teenage Queen? No wonder they got invaded.
> But the Force guided her to more, the great forests and mountains
> lived on in the memory of the Force and so she saw what no normal eye could

Okay, already this is getting morbid. Still, in a world where you can watch the Twin Towers collapse over and over again on YouTube, I can't exactly cast stones.
> And passion too was part of the Force.
That seems to violate the Jedi Code:
There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no death, there is the Force.
That doesn't invalidate Leia's thought; passion *is* part of the Force, but it's a part the Jedi try to suppress.
> The ripples were building; she could feel its doom coming, even as
> life went on; she could sense it; and yet, for inside her mind, she was
> *on* Alderaan, standing in a great grassy field as people rode horses and a
> city gleamed in the far distance, white against the green.
It's difficult to reconcile this to Ben feeling the destruction of Alderaan even though he was presumably still lightyears away in the Millennium Falcon. We need to establish a research fellowship to try and understand how Force sensitivity is affected as one approaches and even exceeds the speed of light.
> “The force will guide me,” Amidala said; she was curious to see
> what Wookie comedy was like.

Another interesting concept. :) WIll Rwooos and Rya'chel ever get together?
> But they would not forget the memory saved in light.

A nice little slice of life, with an interesting concept that was nicely explored. Always good to read your stuff, John.
