[FFML] A thought on the future of the FFML

Heck, Fim Fiction allows you to download as Text, HTML, or Epub, all with a
handy icon right before the chapter with no need to actually open it up. Or
you can read it right on site, which supports all sorts of gimmicks in the
story in regards to color and formats.

An Epub formate in this day and age of E-readers seems like a pretty good
idea, not that I've taken advantage of it yet.

Doesn't even need to be that complicated. Just have the site's native tag
system be BBCode. It'll mean the user has to global S&R their hypothetical
pre-existing HTML tags to BB tags, but that's a relatively simple task.

On a related note: I know I keep pointing at FiMF.net as a reference for
things, but that's only because the site does a LOT of things right:

On FiMF, there are three options for story views. You can view using the
site's native interface, you can download stories in plain text format, and
you can download stories in HTML format. The on-the-fly conversion code
usually works very nicely, although it lacks a convention for converting
formatting to text because it doesn't strip BBCode style tags down to
old-style TXT equivalents. I don't see any reason this can't be done,
however, for those who are plain-text-only sticklers.
