[FFML] [Announcement] Website and status update

I imagine almost no one wondered what the reason for my resignation
was, but it actually wasn't the plain text thing so much. (Naw, not
really 'plain text or death!', as amusing as that is).

Well ... originally, I was planning a hiatus from the list to
de-stress over (at this point) several years of nearly daily personal
attacks off-list, but from ... a person that felt I had wronged them.
The re-purposed spambot that ended up sending something in the area of
20,000 death threats about two years ago was particularly inspired,
though I can't actually prove that the same person was responsible for
it ... hard to imagine that I've upset _that_ many people, though.
Anyway, my hope was that once things had improved, I could return to
the FFML on a longer-term basis.

Just today, Mr. Kleppe has put a surprising amount of effort into
convincing me that this would not be a good use of my time, and that
it would be better to just move on. That's too bad! Still, I should
act on that inspiration and not just sit idle.

I had some good years with the FFML ... learned a lot about writing,
and met some very awesome people. One particularly bad apple, too,
but you can't win 'em all, right? I'd like to thank everyone who's
helped me in the last decade, for all of the much needed corrections
and commentary I've received. I regret only that I can't thank
everyone individually! There's too many! And probably, quite a few
of them aren't even on the FFML anymore....

But then again, that being said, the fandoms I'd been writing in
didn't attract a lot of attention in terms of feedback lately ...
though I would occasionally get private e-mails saying someone liked a
story. So! If you want to read what I write, moving forward, there's
a subscription service for updates on my website here:

http://soulriders.net/brian/

And if you feel like actually reading rough drafts of what I write and
offering feedback, I'd appreciate it; even though it's neither plain
text or inline, the formats I'm happiest with for editing, I tend to
post my fics in the Creative Writing section of the Soulriders message
board, which is here (actually ... I've considered them the first stop
before the FFML for the last few years):

http://www.soulriders.net/forum/index.php

You can also post your own fics there if you want feedback from me (or
the others in the forum).

Well, I've taken enough of your time! Thanks again -- as well as
goodbye, and good luck! Perhaps we'll meet again. ;)
