I almost lost my cool for a moment today. I saw it all too clearly
when Dad was about to strike Mom. Fortunately I was able to restrain
myself, and just catch his arm before he could strike.

I could see where he was coming from. Mom was a bit over the line in
abusing Sis, but that's not the kind of family I want to be born into.

Dad has his "John Smith" trump card and I have mine. In fact, I
already used it once, and it went right over his head. What did he
think I meant, when I suggested that I was likely to be born into a
new world that had just him and Mom?
