I was going to include a short note about the non-existence of the
family pet, but I thought that would be overkill.

Things I thought would be rather self-evident:

How does a teenage boy earn the knickname "Herb", and boy doesn't he
act that way throughout the series?

Examine the "Wizard of Odd" episodes and note how "Candi" is quite
aware of all the elements of the series, but P&F call the man (in a
different episode) an "old pharmacist".

So in short I assumed that "Candi" was right (in the series), and the
entire series happened in as close to real life as possible.  Once
that step is complete it's obvious why Mom never sees the real
problems and who must be reasonable for the situation.
