Just a few token comments on the token teaser...

Bringing back Sakomizu-sensei was an interesting idea. The kids don't
pry nearly enough, given
how much he could tell them. But, of course, they don't know how much
he could tell them.

This part obviously is intended to mean or point at SOMETHING, but
what? Hayao, whose
only obvious role so far is as a potential source of conflict between
Crystal and Kasumi,
is obsessed with this story, and identifies strongly with Octavian
(later Emperor Augustus).
Can we read 'Antony and Cleopatra' as a metaphor for anything in 'Mai
Hime'? Let's see...
(Nagi and Reito/Obsidian Lord were allies in a task; Reito's infatuation
with Mai influenced
the Obsidian Lord too much, and hence the O/L blew the job, and Nagi
wants revenge
on Mai? And Hayao is Nagi in disguise?) No, that's too far-fetched,
for multiple reasons.
Still, you obviously intended Hayao's outburst above to mean SOMETHING.
