Tomo looked at the cooling corpse of her second best friend,
eyes wide in realization.  For a moment, tears threatened to
well up in her eyes.

Then she shrugged, went off to bug Yomi, and forgot all about
it.  From that day forward, the only time she even thought
about Osaka was if someone else brought her up - such as when
trying to console the inconsolable Chiyo.  Every now and then
when that happened, she had an inkling that she should know
how Osaka died, but when she thought about it, the answer
simply eluded her, like a butterfly.  So she convinced herself
that butterflies had murdered Osaka - which certainly fit with
the lack of marks on her body.

Ryuk pondered this.  A user of the Death Note who could not -
would not, so far as he could tell - remember who she had
used it on had possibilities.  And then, some day when she was
protesting her innocence to herself after a long career, he
would have to point to the previous pages in the book, all
covered with her handwriting.  Then watch as, inevitably, she
finally signed her own name to the instrument, possibly the
only deliberate, premeditated murder she would ever commit.
