Heh.

Sadly, Ryouga's a fair bit more good-natured than Midori. She has - or
rather used to have - friends and loyalties, but she was never a
particularly nice or stable person.

Doh. Thanks for the catch.

Canon isn't really clear on the matter. Given that the visual cues
indicate that it also restores some measure of vitality to them, I
expect that it's somehow necessary if you want the summoned dead people
to fight or stay around for a while. Orochimaru's offer to Tsunade may
indicate that less personality-destroying methods might be possible. It
might also indicate that he knows more than one type of resurrection
technique or just be more evidence that he's really, really cruel.

...how did I miss that one? Thanks.

Yeah, that bit was fun to write. :)

Sadly, if I was going to kill off Orochimaru the whole story would need
to be drastically different to build up to it properly.

Since when does Naruto address _anyone_ formally? :)

To be fair to him, at the time Hojo wasn't the Tsuchikage. If the old
Tsuchikage had hung on to life a while longer or a different successor
been chosen, things might have turned out rather differently.

Thank you very much for the C&C, and I hope you enjoyed the story!
