The last time I C&Ced one of these on the FFML, it had been less than a
year since I'd joined. This was one of the few SM fics I bothered to read
at any length back then, since I hadn't watched or read any SM (The others
being Waiting for Minako, Nuke Em Till They Glow, and later, On a Clear
Day. My conception of what the Sailor Moon series was like was ...
interesting, to say the least).
I think that the term for long length between chapters should no longer be
"Zen-like". Then again, I haven't seen Zen post anything in awhile,
either.
I'm so glad I picked today to check the FFML.
I could fight in the open, yes, but never as effectively as when I
struck from the shadows.
Tends to be true for most everyone. Always wondered how anime heros
survive.
I ought to write an Antimagical girl/Sentai fic at some point. Throw in
some maxums from the 36 Strategies, and instant fic. Maybe I finish up my
draft on my latest project (which ought to be in a few years).
"Wait, scratch all that. That example was rubbish. Damn it, that sounded
so much better in my head! I knew I should have written down what I was
going to say!"
*snerk
Maybe the ginzuisho corrupted you.
I think ginzuisho should be capitalized.
His eyes shot open at this. Floating in front of him was the ghost
who had rescued Usagi. "Yes, well and whoever you are, you're dead,"
he replied. "And I know which of those two options I'd rather be.
I heard that before they bombed Iraq's nuclear in the late 80s, the
Israeli top brass debated about the political fallout. One was purported
to have said "If I have to choose between popular and dead, or popular and
alive, I pick alive."
The parallels between that and Emerald's perception of his role in the
future are interesting.
The army of the Dark Kingdom gathered on the plains of their land,
ready at last to invade Earth. Raucous laughter erupted as one or
another beast told tales of what they would do once they were
through the portal.
"I'm gonna grab the hottest girl I can find, and...wait. I'll have
drained them of energy. Damnit."
"Well, I'm going to be rich! The Japanese are supposed to be rich,
right? Once I drain them, I'll grab all their cash and...the yen will be
worth nothing due to the destruction of the human government. Damnit."
"I'll flay to the bones any of you who thinks you're taking one step
through that portal!"
Sounds a little awkward. I can't really think of a better line at the
moment, though.
Hundreds of eyes followed the crystals' trails,
Hundreds? That's it? Tiny army to conquer the entire earth. Thousands
sounds better. Hundreds of thousands.
Then again, this is anime, and the Space Battleship Yamato wrecked entire
empires' fleets by itself. So maybe a couple hundred youma can do it,
provided that someone remembers to bring a Main Cannon or there's a youma
idol-singer floating around.
With that, he glanced up, and teleported to the last of the senshi's
auras that he felt disappear.
Capitalize senshi.
He blinked. "Wait. I'm gloating. That's always a good way to die.
Better get on with it, then."
He read the list. ^_^
You'll find that causality is currently too unstable around us to open a
Portal."

"Oh, I can guess. Of course, doing this will almost certainly cause
a time paradox. It'll probably wipe me from existence."
If changing the past can eliminate his future self in this timeframe,
(because he never existed), then why wouldn't it unwind further until his
date of arrival in the time, and wipe out everything he's done?
You could easily change this and keep the story intact by just having him
die for another reason at this point, rather than cease to exist due to
the effects of paradox. Perhaps, since immortals have their obsessions,
he feels no need to continue living (and if he's going to die, dying at
the height of victory and saving the world seems like the best time for it
to happen). Or he needed all his energy to cover the last bit of earth,
and didn't have enough to keep himself alive. Or Pluto's staff has a
failsafe mechanism that any nonSenshi that uses it slowly wastes away.
Mars nodded. She hesitated, then asked "Are you sure you're alright?"
all right?
Actually, I think alright has become an acceptable spelling nowadays in
more places. But I think it's still considered 'incorrect'. Hmm...
"Is there an English PhD on the list?"
In general, I like it. Probably won't have time to do a line-by-line for
months, but hopefully these quick remarks will be useful.

The sardines weren't worth the trouble. A few more shots, then
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.
One look at his face and I knew that I had been betrayed. "Tell me,"
I insisted. He refused, so I slammed him against the wall.
"Last chance. Where can Ranma-Ranma find good fanfics?"
"Try Jason Liao," he whispered, before he slumped to the floor.
I heard the sounds of a door splintering as I left through the
window, one step ahead of Tendo Heavy Industries...
