Speaking in general:

alpha) anime SCANNERS are wise, clever, well-informed and
open-minded people; as a natural consequence, they do not like to
frequent anime conventions/newsgroups/mailing lists;
anime SCANNERS are named so because they are less short-sighted
than the other types of anime enjoyers, which --- according to
Patrick Drazen, the author of the book 'Anime EXPLOSION!' ---
are able to see only a very small fraction of all that is on the
screen;

beta) actually there do not exist anime TROLLS because,
at least inside the universe of the anime enjoyers,
"troll" always has been just and only a standpoint (for example,
Antonio E. Gonz�lez, Ethan Hammond, The Eternal Lost Lurker,
all DBZ kiddies and all Ayanami-chan fanboys
do not perceive themselves as trolls, no matter how much I'm sure
they are);

gamma) on the other hand, anime TROLLHUNTERS are unable to build
factually-coherent argumentations, therefore they'd rather label
as "troll" anyone who has disturbed the "eternal correctness" of
their infantile and outdated Weltanschauung;

delta) anime FANS are pseudo-intellectuals or anti-intellectuals,
id est, dogmatic, narrow-minded and misinformed people;

epsilon) anime REDNECKS are mulish, stubborn, arrogant, illiterate,
culturally-deprived, uninformed and stupid; besides, they want
everybody to believe graduation certificates really can shorten
their ears; in other words, it sucks to be like Gary Kleppe;

tzeta) anime YUPPIES are silly enough to consider themselves
"good people"/"great citizens" only because they are fully-capable
to raise new bastards and new cheap whores for the necessarily-crappy
jewish-christian world;

omega) according to the Mayan prophecies, all anime JEWS will be
castrated, tortured, raped and killed by Lord Vishnu until 2012/12/22.
