Were you aware that the Marvel Mangaverse did this in reverse,
portraying the Fantastic Four as if they were the cast of
Evangelion? Johnny Storm was Shinji, Sue Storm was Rei, a sex
change made Ben Grimm into Asuka, and Reed Richards was equal
parts Gendo and Kaji...

Hmmm.... That doesn't match to my character mapping (esp. Gendo), but it
does explain far too much about Reed and Ben. ;-)
It's a bit of a spoiler to reveal that there is only one sex-swapped
character mapping in my story, but it isn't who you think it is.
The vast majority of my Marvel-ness comes from the very early Fantastic
Four with a few twists from later comics.

My current plan is to have five chapters, one for each of the five
children, but I had to split off the Introduction because it has too many
moving parts to be told from a single point of view.
And it's a fnording shame that we can't do Marvel lemons, when I'll have
Asuka Langley Soryu lusting after a bunch of hunky Marvel supervillians.
(Who are all happily engaged in their own relationships and don't have the
time of day for Asuka.)
