This calls for a "list" response.

Heh. List. I kill me.

Oh, good. Easier for me to respond. :)

2. Chapters 26 through 32 are drafted. About four more chapters of stuff
closing the various plot threads have been planned. A number of chapters
(about 8) remain to be planned. I am writing quickly to the completion of
the first story in this saga. Once there, I will revise and chapters 1
through whatever will make up the first book. It will have an actual
resolution for the characters and an actual ending... which will lead
into the sequel.

*nods. Look forward to it.

3. More chapters WERE supposed to start showing up... today! Then I moved
it to September, but due to recent RL events, that goal has been pushed
back to early October. Fixing nine zillion car things sucks.

Fair enough. I finally finished a fic earlier this year that I had hoped
to finish sometime in 2001, so I won't be the first to throw stones.

4. The military stuff I need to play with delicately. On the one hand,
military tactics tip off James to who he's fighting and how to defeat
them. On the other hand, discussion about the firearms should be toned
down enough that non-gun-nut people won't get turned off by the story. Is
the current balance remotely nice or did it get in the way?

I'd say leave it as it is.

5. The scene in chapter 5 I've never liked. No one's liked it. My author
friends told me bluntly that it was a travisty that should be cut from
the story. I'm thinking I should take their advice.

For what it's worth, I concur. Especially since he fights those mercs
right afterwords and identifies them through their combat style.

6. I did, at one time, start drafting an e-mail explaining my plans for
this story after chapter 25. That e-mail never materialized.

Why'd you even bother? Such messages tend to become obsolete anyway, as
plans change.

7. Tired. And this reminds me I have stuff to do for S:E. Bleah.

The sardines weren't worth the trouble. A few more shots, then
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.

One look at his face and I knew that I had been betrayed. "Tell me,"
I insisted. He refused, so I slammed him against the wall.
"Last chance. Where can Ranma-Ranma find good fanfics?"
"Try Jason Liao," he whispered, before he slumped to the floor.
I heard the sounds of a door splintering as I left through the
window, one step ahead of Tendo Heavy Industries...
