Given the others (that
aren't explicitly leaning slightly towards the dark) sorted into 
Slytherin, I think it is mainly
those that feel they have something to prove now--those who don't
have a 
negative bias
against Slytherin anyway.  (The hat does seem to take the wearers 
desires into account
if he's aware of them after all.)  Duncan has gone most of his life

being trodden upon and
probably feels, down beneath the mental baggage, that he needs to
prove 
himself to his
father or more so himself.

   More on Slytherin House next chapter.


Anyway, looking forward to more of this, its been an interesting
read so far.
