Odd. I would have given that as the *least* likely of the houses to
be
suited to him (with Gryffindor in second place); from what little
we've
seen of his personality so far he seems like a shoo-in for the
stereotypically timid Hufflepuff (even though that's probably an
inaccurate stereotype), and I thought I'd seen a couple of hints of
an
underlying intelligence which might have qualified him for
Ravenclaw -
which would have been the most appropriate by virtue of being so
dreadfully *in*appropriate for the stereotype of the Dursley.
It's a big surprise to everyone, naturally.
Admittedly the presence of Draco in a positive role indicated that
the
fic was probably moving in this direction, but I had hoped for
something
not quite so implausible (and, arguably, cliche'd - I've seen "a
few,
too many" fics make the protagonist Slytherin with the obvious
intent of
showing that They're Not So Bad After All... which of course they
aren't, but that's not a good enough reason by itself). Still, it's
possible that you have enough up your sleeve at which you haven't
yet
hinted to be able to justify it later on; we shall see.
There are reasons, and some Slytherins are just as bad as their
rep....
