Hermione has seen this sort of thing before, in book 4. The wizard
tents at the Quidditch Cup did this sort of thing. Pup tent on the
outside, house-sized accomodations, fully stocked with furniture and
food on the inside. Even if this story occurs before book 4, Hermione
didn't express shock when she first saw the tents. She's had to have
read about such things before.
I enjoyed reading this, the only disjoint coming when Hermione was
surprised at the Tardis.

I'm fully prepared to accept Hermione thinking this is impossible.
She's
been raised to think that her mother is a normal, run-of-the-mill
muggle, with no connection to anything magic or extraordinary (except
that perhaps she's very good at taking care of teeth). Additionally,
she's just been killed and reborn (and again, since I have no DW
knowledge, maybe this isn't as "critical" as it could be) so perhaps
she's a little flaky and confused. As Hermione herself says: "Nothing
fits right. Nothing seems right," she said. "I don't feel right."
Anyway, she recovers immediately after that and attempts to "piece"
together the situation.
Also, the tents were structures, so she was no doubt expecting it, or
Ginny had told her about it. But who expects to find a larger room
inside a clock?

I find this description delightful. I think I can find that outfit on
the racks, though, when I go out in Harajuku on Saturdays. I'll take a

Another C&C'er noted that Time Lord fashion may be genetic. It's
possible if you believe some of the stuff written in the book
Lungbarrow.
And for those wondering: Hermione IS NOT the Doctor's daughter. At all.
I do wonder about the Doctor's granddaughter: Susan Foreman. I thought
it would be her, when I figured out it was Doctor Who. That would have
been an even bigger shock for the Doctor. His last living relative with
a daughter.
During the time of the seventh Doctor, it was stated that the Doctor
is/was Merlin. I wonder if that is going to play a role in this fic.
In the novels, it was implied that the Doctor has regenrated more than
nine times(prepetual regeneration to make up for some evil(giving the
Time Lords regneration or something else)) and his wandering is not
random(he goes where he needs to go). It has been implied that he was
there when Rassilon and Omega made their contributions to Gallifrey and
his the third in the group. If you go by the Brain of Morbius episode,
this is the 15th or 16th Doctor
