Oh, no. That would gut the story of some of the best stuff --
Harry's ability to pick and choose the best effects from dozens of
magical "traditions". Plus it would require DragonBard to
completely rewrite the existing five chapters.

Yep. There are so many magic systems that Harry Potter can use.

Talislanta's 3rd edition seperation of magic into so many categories
TORG's Aylse sourcebook has a chart that shows how spells work there
Castle Falkenstein with Book of Sigils is interesting. A wizard from
Falkenstein would have problems castign a fireball, but they can cast a
long ritual that can destroy a city.
ICE's Rolemaster book had 30 elements and something like fifty
different(character classes) ways to cast spells
Speaking of Rolemaster, Harry might have picked up some of the ICE
Middle Earth products. Meaning the metal Kregora might be something
Harry might TRY to make

Speaking of which, I just got the Rolemaster stuff.
I'll also have to look into those other systems. Talislanta, TORG,
and Castle Falkenstein you said?

Sadly, Castle Falkenstein and TORG are out of print.(GURPS Castle
Falkenstein isn't but it doesn't have the technomagic and ways spells
are sperated out that the R.Talisorian games does

But this link will sned you to where you can get the magic system for
TORG Aysle
http://darleyconsulting.com/games/stormknights/pages/torgmagic.html

Warehouse 23 has a few of the books
http://www.warehouse23.com/search.cgi?pline=Castle+Falkenstein
The Lost Notebooks and the Book of Sigils are what you are most
interested in. However, getting ahold of the mainrulebook is a pain.

I think it was in one of the Mekton books that this was stated.(Mekton
Empires IIRC)
Magic, Psionic and Ki are the same thing, just with different names.

No, if anything
throw in "Shadowrun" and other even more wildly varying sources;
GURPS has several alternate magical systems including rune magic
and fully-improvised spellcasting,

The ones I mentioned. There is also Earthdawn and Warhammer to utilize.
There is another wizard named Harry from a US Cartoon.: Harry Grimorie
from the US Darkstalkers or maybe Presto from the Dungeons & Dragons
cartoon(Harry Potter takes place in England and that series is available
on DVD over there)

I've also gotten Earthdawn and Warhammer.
Haven't looked at them yet, but I've got them.

Warhammer Book of Sorcery is what you need, if you want to use that system
The way this Harry Potter is actin is the like spell weaving of Earthdawn.
There is also the Slayers(anime) way of doing magic
I have a few RPGs with some systems in them, but I tend to doubt they's
be much use to you.
Al-Shard
Terra the Gunslinger
Blades of Arcanum
Dragon Arms
Tenra Banshou Zero
