I liked this. I liked this a lot, though as someone else posted it feels a  
bit rough. Nothing another pass or two couldn't fix. It appealed to the horror  
fan in me, and drove home just how horrific it can be living in a world of  
nigh-omnipotent beings who see you as, at best, a pet, and at worse fodder or a 
 resource to be exploited or - shades of Dunsany! - an amusing distraction. 
 
No real suggestions here, save hoping you take the time to do a second  draft 
to smooth it out.
