I try ^_^;... i'm attempting to build a unified logical structure for the techniques in Suiren, so that i don't end up contradicting myself as much as Kishimoto and the anime writers do >_<;...

As far as i'm concerned, the most basic genjutsu dispelling technique,
which involves the manipulation of your own chakra to effectively
'freeze' it, in hopes that the genjutsu will break, is _not_ 100%
effective.

Actually, post-timskip in Chapter 259 (which contains the most canonical
information on genjutsu to date) it is indeed demonstrated that the basic
dispelling technique is less than 100% effective.  So this isn't actually
a part of canon that needs to be altered.

I could always be wrong, but my understanding is that "doujutsu" is a
different sort of category than the ninjutsu/genjutsu/taijutsu triad; a
doujutsu technique is also a ninjutsu or a genjutsu.  (I find it hard to
come up with a concept for a doujutsu taijutsu technique, but more
creative minds might manage it.) 

I think the accepted fandom definition of doujutsu is 'a technique executed using the eyes.' I dunno if this is _correct_ or not; i'd have to see the actual characters it's written with. 

In general, all the 'eye techniques' in Naruto have thus far been used by folks who have bloodlines linked to their eyes, so of course they will tend to be more effective than regular techniques. 

I would agree that all ninja techniques that utilize chakra should be classifiable as either taijutsu, ninjutsu or genjutsu. 

Itachi's Tsukiyomi is a doujutsu genjutsu and is referred to a number of
times as a genjutsu in canon; Amaterasu and the unnamed Mangekyou
technique we see post-timeskip (being vague to avoid spoiling anyone) are
presumably doujutsu ninjutsu. 
Tsukiyomi is indeed a completely different level of mindfuck, but that's
because it takes place instantly, with no time for counter-genjutsu
methods on the part of the victim or others, not just because it is a
doujutsu. 

I would disagree; i'd say that the reason Tsukiyomi would be considered more effective is _not_ because it's instantaneous, as there are many normal genjutsu that seem to take effect almost instantly. I would say that it is considered more effective because it's nearly impossible to break the Tsukiyomi without outside help. (Or, at least that's the impression we're given...)

Can't say I was specifically imitating this bit with my own "snakes in the
bedding" bits, but it'd be awfully hard to convince anyone who's read
both stories that my Anko (and the Anko/Sakura relationship in 100 Days)
was not heavily influenced by Suiren. 

Heh... i'm flattered, though i personally would have to say that the Anko and Sakura in 100 Days are significantly different from the Anko and Sakura in Suiren. Their relationship developed differently, your version of Anko seems to have a much richer backstory than mine, and my version of Sakura is far more self-reliant when it comes to training (which is a mixed blessing at the best of times).
