Thy Outward part is an excellent Ranma 1/2 fic by Richard Lawson that
actually offers a great deal of character development to explain Ranma
getting together with a guy after his curse is locked. see link section
below.

Actually, I never found that character development all that well-done or
believable. It's a good fic, but the explanation for Ranma getting
together with the OC was a bit like this:

"So you were a guy, but you're permanently a girl now?"
"Yeah."
"Ha! You have to date me!"
"Wate wut?"
"Unless you want the horrible hoooorrible stigma of lesbianism, you'll
have to date guys eventually, and it might as well be me!"
"... Dammit!"

The character was practically dragged into it, kicking, screaming, and
going limp.

That it is a good fic despite taking Ranma in such an unbelievable
direction actually says the character development is extremely
well-done. Compare it to the then-common "Ranma permanently adopts a
female identity" fic to which it was apparently a response and it is
head and shoulders above the best of the competition.

Plus, I always found it just a tad odd that, in the fic where Ranma and
the guy finally have sex, Ranma goes all freaked-out from having
something inside her, but it's later shown that she has a gynecologist.
Now, I'm not actually a woman, so I don't know these kinds of things,
but don't gynecologists actually... put things in there?

Yes, but not that kind of thing unless the gynecologist is a very
naughty boy.
