stories with an [original] tag are welcome here on the
list, as long as they have a strong anime flavor.

Question: What exactly is anime flavour in writing and at
which point does it become strong?

Japanese setting?
A genre generally associated with anime or manga, like
mecha or magical girls?
Sprinkling a handful sweatdrops, nosebleeds and facefaults
over the story?
Squeezing in as much from the fan service chapter of
Big Eyes, Small Mouth as feasible?

Were, e.g., the original Slayers novels anime flavoured?
The Dungeons and Dragons campaign that evolved into
Record of Lodoss War?
The Lone Wolf and Cub movies?
