Point of order - that's nothing new.  Just a couple well known examples
off the top of my head: Chibi-Usa and Hotaru (arguably platonic);
Tomoyo and Sakura (most definitely not platonic, if Tomoyo stops
restraining herself or Sakura figures things out).  Or for
underage/adult: Miaka/Tamahome (and very nearly Miaka/Tasuki, not to
mention Yui's affairs); Usagi/Mamoru (Mamoru was even called on it in
the manga); Shinichi-nee-Conan/Ran (not sure if this is strictly canon,
and it's certainly special circumstances, but I see it in fanfics often
enough and some might argue that the law does apply to
underage-in-body-regardless-of-"real"-age).

Not to mention any relationship involving Haibara Ai, who is in the same
sitch as Conan...

...or for that matter, anything involving Skuld or Sasami...remember the
HUGE flap over that one Sasami fic ages ago? (In retrospect, considering
some of the things I've seen in the time since, that really was fairly tame.
Disturbing, yes, but...I've seen much, MUCH worse since then...)

Again, underage stuff pretty much goes hand-in-hand with the anime/manga
subset, so it wouldn't actually be anything new.
