I'm not the type to complain about "gratuitous Japanese." But what's
"barou" mean? Some contraction of bakayarou?
That's been my assumption about it. *shrug* All I know is, it's what
Shinichi uses, and even Kogoro uses it occasionally.
I just want to say that Yahiko (maybe Sano? It's been a while, dammit)
uses it in Rurouni Kenshin occasionally. In the text bubbles, the a is
hyphenated, so it's more like, "baarou!"
Which in my eyes lends more credence to it being a distorted version of
"bakayarou."
