I realise that this actually makes the Conan fanfic community one of the
LEAST plagued on the Internet--ironically--but it still makes it a pain

in

the ass to sift through it all and find the stuff I actually want to

read.

No kidding.  I pretty much gave up on trying to find good Conan fics as

soon

as Case Closed hit the Cartoon Network.  All your pet peeves are mine as
well, with the addition of calling the characters "Jimmy and Rachael"
instead of Shinichi and Ran.  Gah.  The series so obviously  takes place

in

Japan....

Yeah, the whole Jimmy/Rachel thing bothers me too, despite my having
actually gotten INTO the series through the dub. I've been a purist and
hardcore Conan otaku for about a year and a month now...it's amazing how
quickly you can develop peeves in a fandom...

... but I'll spare you my Cartoon Network rant, because I could go on and
on.  ^^;

And that's another peeve I have: people blaming Cartoon Network for things
Cartoon Network has no control over. Actually, even Funimation doesn't have
control over it--the whole "Case Closed" and "Jimmy, Rachel, Richard" etc
thing isn't even Funimation's fault, it's Yomiuri's. THEY decided all the
names needed to be changed except for Conan Edogawa and a VERY few
others...*shrug* Your guess is as good as mine.

If you have any good Conan fic recommendations, I'd greatly appreciate it

if

you could share.  Maybe they might inspire me to dust off my old
multi-chapter Conan fic and work on it.

Phantom Kaito, author of the Conan/Kaito/Danny Phantom crossover "The
Impossible Murder". A fun read.

There's other great Conan authors, such as Icka, who I don't have direct
links bookmarked to, but it's not hard to find them through each others'
profiles, really. Almost all the really GOOD Conan authors are interlinked,
or post to the LJ community manycases1truth.

And of course, there's my own Chibification Nation, which is stalled at
three and a half chapters and available in a seriously-in-need-of-update
form on my website. ^^;

And speaking of, you recently posted a very enjoyable Conan fic to the

list.

I suppose I should start acting on my resolve to be more active on the

FFML,

and give some C&C.
