And that is my point exactly. When the FFML can't even produce C&C for
anime in general, other than "the big 5," what's the point in allowing in
other fandoms? So that their works can *also* be met with resounding
silence?
I think that whatever is wrong with the FFML needs to be fixed before
dragging in other fandoms to be ignored.
I can only speak as a reader who does subscribe the FFML since more than 7? years:
C&C:
Its the way you expect C&C. In most cases personally I can't give more than "I
really enjoyed it!" or "Not bad, but its not my intrest." so I just say
nothing.
Also, in many cases C&C was used to show the drawbacks or problems with the
writing itself or about technicals about writing. I can't help with this also.
If you want more traffic or feedback for Stories you need to make sure people
who are willing to deliver them won't be shut down cause they can't give you
more than a sentence. I won't give my comment in such a environment.
New Members:
The FFML was always hard to find. Even seven years ago I had to search some
time to find a entry point. A small Webpage (with the FAQ maybe) could help
with that. But Mailing-Lists are hard to comprehend for people with not much
technical skills.

Sorry but thats wrong!
gmane.org is NOT a different Server for the FFML. Its a Webinterface for
mailing list. Many different types of mailing lists can be accessed though it.
But none of these are hosted on gmane. Its like a google for mailing lists,
like google provides a webinterface for the Usenet with GoogleGroups.
gmane.org can be a way to improve the public audience of the FFML. Maybe it can
also help to aquire new members who are willing to submit new and fresh
stories.

Also... the big 5 don't intrest me much anymore, I don't read anyfic of them
anymore. Younger Animes like Abenoashi, Escaflowne, Sekai no Monshou/Senki,
Niea under Seven and such on have caught my intrest. Ranma is a good way to
make me run... I've read too much Ranma... sorry.
