I think you're engaging in revisionist history here, at least with respect to
Granberry. When I banned him he was quite clear in knowing that he had it
coming. Kenko, to my knowledge, was never banned nor threatened with banning, so
I'd be surprised if his leaving had anything to do with the list moderation. And
I don't remember who "Togashi Gaijin" is.

This is my first post, since I C&C privately. Also, in the interests of full
disclosure, I should state that I host Don's fics on my website. I'm in a
different timezone to most, so I'm a little late with this post.

Gary, Sebastian said nothing about Kenko being banned, or the others for that
matter. He's not doing any revisionism. With all three, though Don and Mark
had the worst of it by far, a couple of commenters launched a persistant and
vindictive attack on the fics posted. The attacks continued far past the point
where other threads had been warned to tone it down, both before and since.
Two days for one of them, from what I recall.

No reason was offered for why the threads had been allowed to run so long and
in that manner, though one admin did mention when handing out a ban, that
he'd had a bit of an altercation with one of the commenters and had been
reluctant to give a warning.

These incidents displayed a distinct difference in behaviour by the admins.
They are, as a rule, very pro-active in keeping the lid on discussions
and sheparding the list members. These incidents were so far out of
normal that I suspect the admins simply hadn't, as a group, been at
their computers during those times. The lack of any explanation for what
I saw as a failure of the moderation system left a bad taste in my mouth,
particularly as it was to the detriment of some excellent fics which are
exactly the type to maintain interest in the list and inspire other authors.
