Things that really stood out for me in this chapter were:
1) The intelligent treatment of Japanese xenophobia in a story like this
surprised the heck out of me, especially when it was contrasted so well
against the constant revelations of the new understandings the Pilots
keep having thrust upon them.
2) Rei's continued growth as a person has always been one of the things
I love about this story, and this chapter really let her shine.
3) Shinji's growth is as amazing to watch as Rei's. And just as
satisfying, especially when compared to the original.
It was also enjoyable to watch Nabiki and Jeff trade barbs, but that's
been an ongoing thing, so it didn't stand out as much here.

Life is like arriving late for a movie, having to figure out what was going on without bothering everybody with a lot of questions, and then being unexpectedly called away before you find out how it ends.
