Just doing a bit of axe-grinding here. There are an awful lot of R/SM
crossovers out there, and most of them, while loudly trumpeting their
impartiality, feature Ranma (with a few unlikely power-ups) humiliating
the Senshi with one or two easy moves and then ending up training them
in martial arts -- apparently because, canon notwithstanding, martial
arts are clearly the only way to true power. I thought it might be fun
to swing the pendulum in the other direction, for a change.

Sailor Moon/Dragonball-Z crossovers work the same...actually crossing
ANYTHING with Dragonball...Didn't some second-rate old geezer in DB
destroy the moon? There goes Sailor Moon's power base...and Mercury's
computer too.

As to unlikely powerups...isn't that the entire point of Sailor Moon?
Some klutzy Jr. High schoolgirl is given magic pen by a cat and before
you can say "Moon Unit Powerup" she's a magical howitzer. If that's not
an unlikely powerup I don't know what is. What's wrong with Ranma-chan
getting a pen from a little black pig?

As such, Sailor Moon doesn't have a "road to true power." Unlike, even
DBZ where people had to work for their power, the "power" in Sailor Moon
can be boiled down to simply an "unlikely powerup" from the start. You
could hand out Cutie Moon Rods and crystals to half the cast of Sister
Princess and they'd be about even...
