Thank you for taking the time to comment, I appriciate it.

Personally I don't like the immortality idea used here very much. The WoT
setting has several perfectly good ways of importing charcters from other
ages and worlds build into it. Heroes could be reborn and even travelers
from a paralel or alternate world might appear in Rand's world with the
help of items already described in the books.

It is a bit hard to belive that after so many millenia Ranma would
still be
recognizable as the person he once was.

First this will probably not be canon wot timeline, Ten - thousand years
is a bit of a stretch even for me. I haven't quite decided the exact
length of time that has passed for Ranma.

This actually is something that I have gone back and forth with quite a
bit, with several different versions. Lots of them applying other said
methods of joining the two worlds. I intend to cast Ranma as someone
that has decended into near-insanity and come back from it several times
in the long time he has been alive. He will certainly be affected - have
deep scars and be much wiser, but enjoy the act of seeming like his old
self - Much as Yoda's crazy hermit act or Yosho's Grandfather act. Also
if much of that time was spent just wandering and interacting as little
as possible with the world since his nermia days, those memories would
still form a core of his personality.

Maybe (probably) this is a week way to explain away a major flaw in the
way I have set up this story. However and integral part of my tale
involves his daughter - something I can't envison ranma going along with
(drunk or not) without a life changing span of time passing and with
nothing left to lose. And one thing that I wanted to stay away from was
any hint of a nonconsentual conception of child akane.

Thanks for responding,
