This is the fifth chunk of original episodes 21-24 (of 30 that have

rewrite
extensively as I don't think I have handled the lime content and
the

and wait for a revised version.

"He's called again," Ichiro's sister announced cryptically as she
put down
the phone.

"People call us all the time on that line. They usually want us to
bring
them food," Ichiro assured her earnestly, "why don't you tell us

Suddenly it got very silent in the kitchen of Light Castle
Restaurant as
the extended family who worked there abandoned their various tasks
and
drew closer.

"What did he say?", "How do you know it was him?", "What did he
want?"
they asked eagerly.

"It was the same address and he wanted the same as last week only
twice
as much. That was all." Ichiro's Sister told them.

"That was all?" Father asked disbelieving.

"Well he probably didn't want to say anything over the phone, had
to make
it sound like a normal order. You never know who might be listening
in."
Ichiro argued.

"Yes, but what did he mean with twice as much as before? Is that a
good
sign or bad sign?" Father despaired unable to decipher the
message.

"Perhaps he wanted twice as much food as the last time. You know,
just
like he said," his sister suggested unimaginatively.

Meanwhile at Kunou Manor the young scion of the house Kunou was

Well not so much shocking as irritating.

"What manner of recreancy is this, Sasuke?" Tatewaki Kunou demanded

The ninja lying motionless in the garden tried to explain himself.

Miss Kodachi has seen it fit to test one of her newest paralyzing

If it lasts that long Kodachi overdid it a trifle. Usually on Ranma,
that kind of powder only lasts a few hours.

leniency

Tatewaki Kunou considered this -- it took a great man to show great

"Fine, you will only have deducted your pay for the time you spend

"All 400 Yen of it?" Sasuke asked mournfully.

"Yes!" Kunou insisted -- a great judge had to be as firm as he was

Part 22: Kodachi vs. the Penguin

Akane felt really glad that Kodachi had decided to join her in
Sister
Holle's lesson. She really had not been looking forward to
suffering
through another abusive lecture from the evil nun all by herself.

Hm. Given that Kodachi will surely incur the nun's wrath that's a
trifle ignoble of Akane to want Kodachi there to draw Holle's fire.

As she knelt on the cushion waiting for Sister Holle to arrive she
just
hoped that she had managed to impress on Kodachi just what sort of
person
was.

The Kunou girl could be a bit strange at times and Sister Holle was
bound
to misinterpret any sort of abnormal behavior as signs of sinful
pervertedness.

Kodachi had only boasted that she 'knew that type' looking very
confident
and happy in her new dress.

Well Kodachi does go to a parody of a Catholic girl's school so I
suppose it might have flagellating nuns.

Akane wished that she could feel that confident.

                             * **  ***  ** *

Ranma was looking forward to a short session as Sister Holle as it
hopefully would help her went some of the accumulated frustration

vent

on her
two prisoners.

She was prepared for every possible reaction from Kodachi except
for the
one she got. Respectful behavior and what turned out to be a
preemptive
attack disguised in polite inquisitiveness.

"Isn't the cross you wear the wrong way up?" She had asked lightly

once
the introductions were done.

Ranma looked down at herself. Was the long bit supposed to point up
or
down? It looked like she thought it was supposed to look.

On the basis of her father's teachings that you never admitted any
weakness or mistakes unless forced to she assured Kodachi that the
way
she wore was exactly the way it was worn.

But that had actually only been an opening gambit of Kodachi's to
put
Sister Holle of balance to prepare her for her first salvo.

"I have heard that you have a very strong stance on moral issues
and was
wondering if you could explain me your church views on issues like
the
prince intention of establishing an harem? It does not sound very
Christian to me," Kodachi wanted to know.

From the astonished look on Akane's face that contradiction had
never
occurred to her. It had not occurred to Ranma either but she was
able to
quickly come up with an answer.

"A common mistake," Ranma dismiss, "Having several wives is an old

while at the same time forgetting his best friends or even that he

But Ranma's sub-consciousness had decided that he was having a
fight with
Kodachi at the moment and that his best weapons were obscure half
remembered bits of information. A fact which selectively boosted
his
powers of recall.

But Kodachi was not as easily defeated. "I understand that this may

not so easily defeated

be the
view of some, but surely the Roman Catholic Church has an official
policy
prohibiting polygamy?"

Another aspect of Ranma's fighting skill came into play at this
point, his
creativity and ability to improvise.

Suggest deleting that sentence.

"Well I am not Roman Catholic," she explained, "the papist with

"It's traditional," he retaliate.

retaliated.

And that's not much of a retaliation. More like stalling for time
while he thinks of a real answer.

He had not managed to absorb much of what little there was written
in the
Tendo family encyclopaedia volume IV [J-N] about Lichtenburg, but
one part
out of all the boring numbers and descriptions had caught Ranma's
interest: apperantly the Lichtenburger were well known for

apparently

traditionally
being mercenaries. In any big war that had been fought anywhere in
the
world in the last dozen centuries there had been hired
Lichtenburger
warriors; quite often on both sides. Ranma could respect and
remember such
facts much better than numbers about tourism and cheese export.

My eyes are glazing over much like Ranma's when he was reading
the encyclopedia. I'd prefer to see this slimmed down into something
like:

Out of the boring trivia about Lichtenburg in the Tendo family
encyclopedia entry, only one thing had caught Ranma's attention.
"Lichtenberg is a nation of mercenaries," he said, only slightly
exaggerating. "The brave young men of our country have fought in
every major war for centuries, and many minor ones. Many men fall
in battle, retire in the nation they fought for, or return already
possessing foreign brides."

"Lichtenburg is a nation of mercenaries", he only slightly
exaggerated in
making up an explanation that sounded believable to him, "The brave
young
men of our country have gone out to fight in other people's wars
since
ancient times. By the time the wars were over many had fallen,
some
decided to stay with whomever they had fought and some of those
who
actually returned brought home women with them from the exotic
locations
they had been."

"I see a one-to-one ratio would be difficult to maintain under
these
circumstances. And I guess it would explain a certain multi-ethnic
makeup
and multi-culturalism among the population with such a large influx
of
foreign people and foreign ideas." Kodachi mused more to herself
then to
the room at large.

But Kodachi hasn't seen the multi-ethnic makeup of Lichtenburgers,
so why would she need to explain it to herself?

Akane was still trying to keep up with the conversation and looked
like
she wondered whether she could dare to ask something without being
accused
of being a pervert. Muttered phrases like "spoils of war?" could be
heard.
However before she could work up the courage Kodachi was once again
loudly
addressing Sister Holle with her questions.

"I take it that the custom of wearing veils is one of the things
that got
imported to Lichtenburg from places like Arabia with those women?"
Kodachi
asked gesturing at the coarse fabric covering the lower half of her
face.

Ranma saw no harm in admitting that this was indeed a possibility.

"I see. That clears up many of the questions I have had. Thank you
very
much. If I might just ask just one other thing that I thought you
might be
able to explain to me?"

"Yes?" Ranma allowed warily.

"I have been told that you disapprove of certain types of behavior
and
dress on the grounds that they are provocative and sinful in a
sexual
way," Kodachi alluded without actually mentioning Severa's name,

on the grounds that they are sinfully provocative in a sexual way

"does
that not sit in opposition to your prince's habit of having his
servants
and prisoners dress in a certain ways that might by some outsider
be
considered as indecent?"

Ranma thought about that for a moment. As a loyal subject of the
prince
she could not very well accuse him of being a pervert.

Not directly. She could, of course, take a tack something like:

"At times, men may make demands upon their wives and servants that
are...difficult for virtuous women to bear but to deny one's rightful
lord would be as wicked as to take sinful pleasure in carnality."

Then again there's another approach. Ranma could just decide that
Wildpferd's "Sister Holle" is actually his sister, Holle. That way
she wouldn't be restricted by being his subject nearly as much.

Ranma would
quickly
have to make up a definition of pervert that would make it possible
to be
outraged at Akane's behavior and Severa's alluded lifestyle but

implied

also
enable her to be perfectly okay with whatever the prince did.

"When the prince makes his serving wenches dress in nothing very
much, he
does so that he can enjoy looking at their bodies -- which is only
his
right and privilege as their lord. The objective is not to allow
the
servants to feel pleasure at showing off their bodies. In fact it
would be
practically sinful of them to actually enjoy wantonly exposing
themselves
like that. The only pleasure they should feel should be that of
the
knowledge that they are serving their lord." Ranma rationalized.

"So it depends on the context," Kodachi concluded, "The same sort
of
behavior that would be sinful for a women to indulge in alone would
be
acceptable if she did it for her husband or master."

"Exactly," Ranma agreed happy that she had understood it but not
really
liking the way Kodachi made it sound.

"So your primary objection to Mistress Severa's lifestyle is not
what she
is doing, but that she is doing it for herself." Kodachi gathered.

Ranma tried to angrily interrupt her at the mention of Severa's
name to
stay in previously established behavior for her character, but
Kodachi
continued loudly.

"If Severa was married or had a boyfriend and he told her to play
with one
of his other girls because he is the sort of guy who likes to watch
it
would be okay wouldn't it?" She argued. "This man would likely not
even
have to be in the same room at the time. Maybe he would just get
off on
knowing that she would be doing it."

"Now wait a minute young lady." Ranma tried to stop Kodachi's
assault long
enough for her to find any weak points in her reasoning, but the
crazy
gymnast was having none of it.

"You don't disapprove the acts themselves, but the fact that she is
doing
them just for herself. You condemn her for being her own woman and
not
submitting herself to a man," Kodachi ranted. "You hate her for
being
independent; for not depending on someone else to allow her to
find
pleasure and happiness."

Ranma watched helplessly as Kodachi word by word destroyed all the
progress she had already made with Akane. Kodachi was destroying
Sister
Holle's authority and deconstructing the value system she needed to
teach
Akane about the dangers of calling someone a pervert.

Hmphf. Not really a "danger" as such. More like trying to "teach" her
the unfairness of interpreting everything as perversion. Or more
accurately, just get revenge on her for calling him a pervert and then
willingly subjecting herself to Wildpferd and Severas little quirks.

If this
continued
Akane would no longer fear the nun and her accusations and go back
to her
own smug self-righteousness. Kodachi was undoing all the hard work
Ranma
had done and there was no stopping her.

"But you yourself," Kodachi was still going strong, "are not
married
either, are you? Without a husband your own rules forbid you

husband,

pursuing any
sort of carnal pleasure. You can hardly begrudge other married
women their
pleasure, because it is not their fault. Any carnal pleasure they
feel is
only a byproduct of being good wives and obeying their husbands
after all.
But people like Severa they don't have the excuse. They get to

that excuse

experience
the things that you are denied and you envy them for that. Is it
not so?"

Ranma was shocked and Akane's whose eyes had gotten progressively
bigger
throughout Kodachi's speech gasped.

"You are jealous of Severa!" Kodachi accused. "If you are not
allowed, she
should not be either. If you have to forsaken all carnal pleasures
to
escape the dominion of menfolk, then so should she. Isn't that how
you
feel; jealousy and envy instead of disgust at her behavior. And
might not
the reason why you have not chosen to marry be the same that you
feel so
strongly about Severa's lifestyle? Because deep down you feel the
same as
her? Because deep down you wished you could be as courageous and
open as
her about it? Isn't it really yourself that you mean when you
accuse
others of being perverts?"

As Kodachi stopped to catch her breath Ranma frantically considered
how to
react to Kodachi's allegation.

I vote for turning to Akane and saying "What do you think, Akane?
When I call someone a pervert, do I really mean myself?" I mean, if
he's actually going for getting Akane to stop calling him a pervert.

                             * **  ***  ** *

                       Part 23: Chastisement

Now Kodachi had done it. Akane watched in horror as the nun seemed
to
become apoplectic.

"How dare you!" Sister Holle raged, "How dare you accuse me of
something
like that! How dare you compare me to this woman. Never in my
entire time
as an instructor have I been this insulted."

"The truth hurts, doesn't it?" Kodachi calmly told her.

This only had the effect of throwing gasoline into the fires of
Sister
Holle's rage. She went into a mostly incoherent rant about being a
bride
of the Lord and above such sinful desires.

OK, so once again I have to ask what Ranma is trying to accomplish
here. This Ranma believes that losing your temper and freaking the
way Akane keeps doing is a vulnerability. So pretending to freak the
way he's doing here (because let's face it, he's far less Holle than he
is Severa or Iron Mask so he can't really have lost it) is just dumb,
assuming that he wants Holle to keep from discrediting herself. The
initial outburst might be worth trying in case Kodachi could be
intimidated, but after it is clear that she can't be, doubtless
through long nun-taunting experience, Ranma should calm down to a
pretense of icy cold anger and switch tactics either directly to
infliction of corporal punishment or looking for some verbal jab that
could provoke Kodachi to lose control. Were I "Sister Holle" and
looking to shake Kodachi's calm, I think I'd ask about her
relationship to her father. There's gotta be something there.

Kodachi just sat there looking calm and superior as Sister Holle
raved.

Akane did not know what to think. She did not like Sister Holle at
all
and her notions clearly did not make any sense, but she could not
help
but feel that Kodachi had gone to far by defying and accusing her
like
that. Akane thought thatKodachi was being too disrespectful towards
the
nun. Even ifthe old penguin was more or less wrong about
everything, she
was still a holy woman and their instructor.

Akane had the same strange feeling that she should not disrespect
her that
she got whenever Ranma showed his contempt for the principal; or
for their
fathers; or for master Happosai who was a dirty old pervert but

Master

still the
master of their school; or for Miss Hinako who was despite all her
failings still their teacher. In fact the only nominal social
superior
that she could fully allow her self to feel contempt for following

herself to feel contempt for,

Ranma's
lead without feeling at least slightly guilty was her
upperclassman
Tatewaki Kunou.

Well, let's face it, Tatewaki has no legitimate authority over her.
He's just in the next grade and all that entitles him to is the title
"sempai". All the other idiots she shows respect for are actually
educators of one type or another...as is Severa.

And she had to admit that deep down there might be something to
Sister
Holle's world-view. There were lots of things that she fully agreed
were
just not proper for a girl to do, but it must be different for a
married
woman somehow. It had been a bit of a relief for her to realize
that
nothing she might have imagined or dreamed of should be constructed
to
mean that she was a pervert. She was just dreaming of being a
proper wife.

But after Kodachi's attack Akane had to consider the implications
of the
possibility that Sister Holle might just be a hypocritic pervert
herself.
Where would that leave Akane?

She did not really want to think about this too much and instead
concentrated on the smug looking Kodachi who was kneeling on the
cushion
next to her and the nun in the front who was slowly winding down
her
diatribe.

After Sister Holle had seemingly exhausted her anger for the moment
she
just looked at Kodachi for a while.

"Kodachi," She finally addressed her," you are obviously a very
misguided
young woman perhaps even worse than Akane here who at least feels
shame
for her actions. I understand that your hurtful words are not your
fault.
You need somebody to show you what is right and wrong and I am
going to be
that person. I am going to teach you proper morals and I am going
to start
right now."

"And how do you plan to do that?" Kodachi asked mockingly.

"The Lord has provided us with the knowledge on what to do with
disobedient children. Words of wisdom won't do you much good as
long as
you are ears are deaf to reason, but I will make you listen."
Sister Holle
told her.

She beckoned Kodachi to step up to her desk which the girl calmly
did,
standing right in front of it with her back to Akane. For a moment
Sister
Holle searched in one of the desk's drawers until she finally found
what
she was looking for. In triumph she held up a large wooden ruler.

"Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of
correction
shall drive it far from him." She intoned heavily before adding

she

almost in
glee. "And I will make sure not to spare the rod on this spoiled
little
girl.

She stepped around the desk and pressed on Kodachi's back bending
her over
the large table so that her behind was facing Akane. Kodachi
appeared
determined not to resist or acknowledge what was coming at all.

Sister Holle grabbed the hem of Kodachi's skirt and rubbed the
coarse
material between thumb and finger. It was apparently found to be
too
shock-absorbing for what was to come as the next thing the nun did
was
to pull the skirt up over Kodachi's waist exposing her naked
posterior to
Akane's view.

With her ruler Sister Holle nudged Kodachi's thighs apart forcing
her to
stand with slightly spread legs.

Akane could not believe what she was about to witness, but she
could not
bring herself to intervene or turn away either.

"Prepare yourself Kodachi and don't be afraid to cry out if you
have to
for I will not let thy soul spare for your crying." Sister Holle

Hunh?

assured
Kodachi.

Kodachi did not answer, but Akane could see her butt-cheeks
clenching in
preparation for the first blow.

With a crack Sister Holle brought down her heavy ruler onto
Kodachi's
behind.

Akane's sudden expulsion of air from her lungs was louder than any
reaction Kodachi had given.

Mortified at her outburst Akane watched a red stripe appear where
the
ruler had fallen on Kodachi's otherwise pale behind. With another
crack a
second stripe soon joined it to be followed by more and more of
its
brethren.

Fascinated besides herself Akane watched as Kodachi's behind slowly
turned
a uniform glowing red as sister Holle slowly, but methodically
rained down
strike after strike.

Why would Kodachi not say something to make her stop? Why did she
allow
the nun to do this to her? Why did she not at least cry out? How
could
she suffer like this in silence?

Ah reckon she's had practise.

Akane almost could not bear to watch. When Sister Holle stopped and
Akane
thought that Kodachi's ordeal was over the nun merely walked around
to
Kodachi's other side. She apparently just wanted to get an even
color for
both cheeks.

The next time she let up for a moment she used her ruler to nudge
Kodachi's legs even further apart before beginning to spank her
again.

The new position allowed Sister Holle to distribute her punishment
better
to the vulnerable areas Kodachi had tried to protect by clenching
her
butt. It also allowed Akane to see previously concealed areas like
the
tiny rosebud between her cheeks and the lower edge of Kodachi's
slit.

In horror Akane saw as a blow hit the sensitive flesh between those
two
intimate places, but Kodachi did not cry out. More strikes aimed at
the
lower part of Kodachi's butt and her upper thighs crashed down.

Kodachi's once pale behind slowly had been transformed into a
red-hot
furnace that Akane would expect to glow in the dark. The two orbs
shining
with a film of sweat must surely be hot to touch right now. The
sweat was
already pooling between her thighs and running down her legs.

At least Akane thought it was all sweat. She tried to get a better
look at
Kodachi's privates to tell whether the cruel punishment had
resulted in
further humiliating the girl by making her body react without her
control
and against her will.

Bending forward Akane almost toppled from her perch upon her
cushion. She
had not noticed that her clothes had once again contracted around
her.

They must have reacted at the righteous anger she felt on behalf of
her
friend.

She suddenly noticed that the constant sound of meaty cracks had
ceased
and that Sister Holle was now looking at her.

"Akane," the nun hollered, "I don't believe you! I thought you

Not really a word, that.

wanted to
better yourself. But the second I turn my back on you to help out
young
Kodachi here you fall back into your old ways."

Akane could not understand what the crazy penguin was accusing her
of now.

"You are drawing pleasure from witnessing Kodachi's punishment."
Sister
Holle clarified Akane's transgression. "You are so aroused by

Akane tried to deny, to explain that it was anger and not being
turned on
that had caused her to be bound, but her veil had already turned
into a
gag again. It had been so natural to assume her kneeling position
once she
had felt herself heat up

Well, she was already kneeling.

that she had not noticed when she was
confined in
it. And now it was to late -- she could once again only shake her
head in
denial as Sister Holle accused her of being a pervert.

"It seems Kodachi is not the only one in need of feeling the rod
and
reproof to give her wisdom," the nun concluded.

With quick steps she stepped towards her and undid the constricted
ribbons
from the shackles on her feet. Before Akane knew what was happening
to her
she had been yanked to her feet. Her arms were still bound but her
legs
were free.

For a moment she wondered whether she should run away. But what use
would
that be when she was mostly naked, gagged and with her arms tied on
her
back. The first guard to see her would just lead he back right here
after
ogling her exposed body.

Resigned she surrendered herself to her fate and allowed Sister
Holle to
push her to the desk and bend her over it right next to Kodachi.

Her naked breasts were pressed against the cold wooden surface and
her
stiffened nipples rubbed over the desktop as the nun roughly
rearragened

rearranged

her into position.

Akane turned her head to see the girl next to her and found
herself
staring into Kodachi's eyes. Kodachi stared right back.

Just as Sister Holle brought down the ruler on her bare behind for
the
first time a surprised Akane saw Kodachi giving her a wink.

                        Part 24: Beating the Girls

Ranma had not intended things to go this far, but when Kodachi had
challenged her authority like that she hadn't really had much of a
choice.
She had to escalate the confrontation to a new level where she
could
reclaim the ground lost in the verbal attack.

Except that it did not work that way. Kodachi was still winning.

She let Ranma spank her butt with a wooden ruler, but that did not
mean
that she was submitting. The opposite was the case.

Had it been a purely physical fight, then Ranma could have done a
number
of things to make the Kunou girl give in, but it wasn't. It was
mostly a
mental duel and by refusing to give any resistance or to
acknowledge the
stinging slaps she was beating Ranma.

If Ranma managed to make Kodachi cry out or to kick her legs, to
protest
or to ask Ranma to stop then Ranma would have won. If Ranma lost
her
temper and ended up hurting her that would be a disastrous loss.
She could
not afford to draw blood or leave any purple bruises or angry welt
that
would not be gone by tomorrow.

Kodachi was practically mocking Ranma by refusing to show any signs
that
the spankings were affecting her.

After a while one butt check was bright red and the other a pale
pink and
Ranma had to switch sides to make them more even. Later she had to
reposition Kodachi so that she could hit some of the more sensitive
spots.
In desperation to draw out the punishment even further Ranma began
to
include the girls upper thighs in her target area, but it was all
to no
avail. Kodachi kept silent and Ranma would soon have to break of
the
punishment and admit defeat.

That was when Akane gave a reminder of her presence in the room by
almost
falling from the cushion she was kneeling on.

Ranma was startled and surprised. She had not noticed Akane getting
angry,
but her clothes had reacted to the heat she was giving off and
contracted
around her.

Laying off a moment from punishing Kodachi Ranma took the time to
admire
her bound fiance.

And Akane certainly was a sight to behold. She was kneeling there
naked
except for a few bands of cloth and leather that hid nothing from
view.
Her arms were bound behind her back and her thighs were slightly
spread
allowing Ranma to view her shaved crotch and her exposed breasts
with the
nipples stiffened in the cold air. She was flushed and trembling
with a
blush stretching all over her exposed front. Over her veil turned
gag she
looked at Ranma with big eyes in her otherwise red face.

If she had not known her better Ranma would have to assume that
Akane was
getting turned on from watching Kodachi get spanked. But knowing
Ranma had
never stopped Akane from assuming the worst of Ranma and she still
had to
reclaim some of the standing as Sister Holle that she had lost in
Akane's
eyes.

So accusing Akane of being a pervert was exactly what Ranma did
with
predictable results. Akane was blushing even more her bonds
tightened
further as she was trying to scream out denials through her gag
while
staring unblinking at Kodachi's abused behind.

And then inspiration struck Ranma. It was the sort of inspiration
that let
Ranma come up with a devastating counter in the middle of a
loosing

losing

battle. It was the sort of intuition that led Ranma to know exactly
what
insults to hurl at an opponent for maximum results. It was the sort
of
idea that frequently led Ranma to end up with a mallet, bonbori,
spatula
or a gymnastic club decorating his aching head.

I short it was an intuition that Ranma blindly followed without

In

much
deliberation or weighing the consequences.

Ranma would spank Akane's butt with a wooden ruler.

Uh-hunh. That's intuition is it? Well, this scene is a trifle on the
problematic, I'd say, if taken as more as kink for kink's sake. Since
in Ranma 1/2 virtually any degree of nonsense can be excused if it is
effective martial arts training, "Mistress Severa" isn't that far out
of line. But this exercise in thrashing Kodachi and Akane's butts has
no such excuse. Dangerous ground, particularly when deciding how to
finally resolve the storyline. Akane has real reason to be angry at
Ranma, now. He's stepped over a line.

On the other hand, I found myself oddly touched by the development of
Akane and Kodachi's friendship and Kodachi cracking out of guilt over
Akane getting drawn into her thing with Holle.
